My friend from college, Zoe Reifel, came to stay in my basement in Brooklyn for the summer of 2019. Months later, inspired by our summer, she conceived the concept for a new website: Hometown.

The site allows you to tour new cities virtually, as if you're visiting a close friend who grew up in that area. We collect tips and stories about the best places to visit from locals, and publish them so that readers can understand what makes their hometown the greatest place on earth.

Another friend, Matt Querdasi, built the website, and I acted as the submissions editor.
